Travel during the Christmas season is as hectic as everything else on holidays. Thus Christmas travelers need to be more meticulous in planning the details of their trip. Aside from booking accommodations and transport, one should also pay attention to miscellaneous factors. For instance do you have a travel insurance in the Philippines already? Or do you have a card that you can use for financial emergencies during your trip? These things may seem immaterial while planning your trip but they can cause travel troubles if you neglect them.

  • Travel Insurance. Most transport services provide insurance for their passengers but it doesn’t hurt to get your own travel insurance. There are plenty of unforeseen events that can happen during travels like delayed flights, loss baggage, or accidents. Having your own insurance affords you some protection from loss or inconvenience brought about by such events. You can find insurance packages that provide a comprehensive coverage for accident, health, and even travel inconvenience benefits. This way you won’t suffer the full burden of loss or inconvenience that may happen during your travels.
  • Small bills or local currencies. It doesn’t matter whether you are travelling abroad or locally, small bills are travel essentials that you shouldn’t neglect. You’ll need them for terminal or transport fees, tips, and small purchases while you are in transit. Sometimes vendors don’t have change for big denominations so it’s either you buy more items or find another vendor to buy from.  It can also be a hassle if you encounter a surly bus driver who’ll give you a hard time for paying in big denominations.
  • Visa expiration. Some people get too excited about their travels that they fail to check the validity of their Visa for their country of destination. Failure to check the expiration of your Visa doesn’t only cost you money but heartache as well.
  • Bank arrangement for International Travel.Your ATM, debit or credit card may work fine in your home country but maybe not in your destination country. This is because some accounts need to be activated for international use before leaving your home country. As such, it pays to pay your bank a visit and make arrangements for international purchases beforehand.
