Shoe Basics for the (Un)Well-Heeled

As much as we women want to be Imeldirific and have a shoe collection fit for our very own shoe museum, financial prudence must be exercised as we do not all have millions of dollars to spend for these indulgences. Most of us have to make do with this basic collection of must have shoes.

  1. Stilettos for that special date or lavish dinner. Choose a pair in neutral color to match most of your evening dresses.
  2. Boots. No shoe closet must be without a pair of boots. Whether they be tall boots or ankle length ones, leather or not, a pair of boots can be used almost anywhere.
  3. Wedges to wear on day-outs with the ladies. Be more daring with your wedges and choose ones that are trendy to add more oomph to your casuals.
  4. Flats for strolling in the park or shopping in the mall. Strappy sandals, loafers, or ballet flats provide comfort and style for lazy days.
  5. Sneakers or sports shoes. It’s high time to get yourself some physical activity and be in the peak of health. Put on those rubber shoes and head off to the gym or have a quick run around the park.

Just these five basic pairs of must have shoes would guarantee that you’d have something decent to wear for any occasion. You really don’t have to be well-heeled to look fashionable. But of course, you could always reward yourself every now and then with another special pair.
