Gel polish is a popular nail polish option for women who would like to have long lasting and chip-proof nail polish. They are also the preferred variants for salon finished nails. Sally Hansen’s Salon Gel Polish Kit held true to its promise and got me great looking nails that lasted for more than two weeks without breaking a sweat. I chose the Wine Not shade for its trendy look and stunning color that got me several compliments for the duration of my two-week test period. I didn’t get a chance to find out how long it would take before the polish becomes chipped because the inner fashion diva in me was already screaming for a new look on my tips. Nevertheless, two weeks is certainly long enough to get you value for money on this polish. I wasn’t able to take photo when I first tried it, but I will do this again soon and will show it to you!
Another reason to love Sally Hansen is their great selection of colors and designs for their nail colors. I tried the Fuchsia Shock variant from their Crackle Overcoat for a mosaic effect. I simply had to apply it on top of two coats of nail polish and seal it with a top coat after it dries. However, one has to make sure that they follow instructions to the dot to get their desired effect. My impatience caused me to redo my pinky as I applied the overcoat before it was fully dry and I didn’t get the crackle that I wanted. During re-application, I used light strokes and thin coating to make the crackle more visible.
Other Sally Hansen Nail Products that are great for those who want to express their nail fashion are the Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips and Magnetic Nail Color. The nail polish strips offer various nail art designs that vary from geometric, floral, and even animal prints. I decided on the Tie-Dye-For variant which is great for summer. However, just like the crackle overcoat, one has to strictly follow instructions.
I also loved the 3-D effect that I got from the Magnetic Nail Color and I also had fun using the magnet to create the waves for my Polar Purple nails.
Aside from these fashionable and whimsical colors, I also like to keep solid colors for corporate or conservative looks. The Complete Salon Nail Color is perfect for manicure on a rush. No fuss, just apply two coats and you’re good to go. It was a good thing that I had the LED lamp from the starter kit to help me fast track the drying period.
