The Meaning of the Colors on Detox Foot Pads

Under the surface of our skin, on every level, there is a battle being waged.  The liver, kidneys, lymphatic system and other cleansing organs, are continually trying to keep the amount of toxins in our body in check.  It’s not an easy task, given the amount of toxins we voluntarily expose ourselves to (processed foods and saturated fats) and those we have no choice but to accept (air pollution, free radicals, etc.).

One effective and relatively unobtrusive way that people can help their bodies maintain a healthy balance is to conduct a foot detoxification program.  By using foot pads, people can actually see the toxins being removed from their bodies.  Typically this is evident in color changes as a wearer continues their program.

Colors

According to practitioners, each color that appears on the foot pad corresponds to a particular toxin or region of the body that has been detoxified.

Black and Brown

If this color appears, it represents toxins have been extracted from the liver.  Since the liver’s primary function is to cleanse the blood, distribute nutrients to cells, and process waste, black could signal the presence of heavy metals, (such as lead, mercury, arsenic, and cadmium, which are all toxic and commonly acquired from everyday substances like batteries, paints, pesticides and pipes). Should brown be apparent, this could represent continued detoxification of the liver, debris (cellular) and tobacco.

Orange and Dark Green

According to the site Detox Safely, orange represents toxins have been pulled from the joints, which could be indicators of diseases like arthritis and rheumatism.  Dark green could signal detoxification of the gall bladder, which is crucial to the digestion of fats.

Red and Yellow

Should red flecks appear on a foot pad, the prognosis is likely detoxification of blood-clot materials.  A yellow-greenish color represents detoxification of the urinary tract, female reproductive organs, male prostate gland kidneys, and bladder.

White

White may also appear in the form of cheese-like particles.  This is associated with yeast (a naturally occurring fungus).  The immune system regulates the growth of yeast, but after an illness or antibiotic treatment, the immune system’s pendulum can swing out of balance, creating a “yeast infection.”   Furthermore, white foam can indicate the detoxification of the lymphatic system, integral to proper immune function.
