Going High-Tech on Note Taking: The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Tablet on Review

I just love the latest technology. New gadgets keep on coming out in the market, each one more exciting than the next. I’ve been waiting for a chance to review one of these gizmos and was really glad to be given a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Tablet to take for a test run. It gave me a thrill and the run was just as exciting as the anticipation of getting my hands on this latest tablet from one of the world’s leading electronics brands. For my honest-to-goodness diva fabulosa take on this tablet, here goes:

Keeping Up with the Apple

On the price front, this tablet comes up a notch below Apple’s iPad and the iPad Mini. It’s not exactly cheap, but if you are going to buy a tablet worthy of your time and money, this is one of the best options you have. It definitely compares well with the iPads on most of the main components. Perhaps the biggest difference is the stylus pen on the Galaxy Note 8. I especially love this device as it gives an old-school touch to the modern device. I just love the feel of writing my notes by hand on the tablet’s face. It actually felt snazzy whipping the device out of my bag to take notes during meetings. This tablet, however, is more than just for note taking. There are so many convenient features that makes this little package a must-have for women on the go.

Loaded with Feats and Specs

Just like the iPad, the Galaxy Note 8 functions as a browser, an e-book reader, a planner, a music player, a video screen, a social media device, and so much more. You can actually customize it according to how you want to use your device. It runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and is powered by a 1.6GHZ Quad-Core processor.  It has a modest RAM at 2GB and on-board memory at 16GB. Those who require additional storage can use the micro SD card slot which can handle up to 64GB. Its 8.0” TFT Display WXGA is smaller than the iPad’s screen, but I really don’t mind. It has WiFi, Bluetooth, and infrared for optimum connectivity. For people who love to take pictures, this device offers a 5mp rear camera and a 1.3mp front camera. It also has built in speakers.

The Diva Test Verdict

This is a gadget that is really easy to use – who does not know how to use a tablet these days, anyway? The S-Note with Web Viewer, the Air View, and the WatchON features are quite basic if you think about it. The integration of these features with other apps, however, makes it a great all-in-one gadget for someone who needs to access their datebook, email, social networks, and notes anywhere they are. I found the Flipboard really nifty as it compiles my social media feeds into a book format that I can easily flip through when I want to get updated with what’s going on with my friends and contacts.

There are a lot of apps already pre-loaded into the Galaxy Note 8. I haven’t really had time to try all them out, but I got to try those that I really can make use of. I even got to try some of the games – they’re cute and quite addictive if I don’t have the sense to control myself. I’m looking forward to trying out the other functions and features of this tablet that can help me organize my days and keep track of all my activities. And since it only weighs less than a pound, I really do not have any qualms about carrying it around with me wherever I go. This Diva Fabulosa is definitely loving her Samsung Galaxy Note 8 experience so far.
