Father’s Day Gift Ideas

It’s that time of the year again – a day when we celebrate our hero, our best friend, our defender and the head of the home. My father is not with us anymore so it’s a little sad time for me during this time of the year. But then again, I have also an amazing husband who is the best father ever to our son so this is definitely something to celebrate. For those of you that still have your father, do an effort,  make that day extra special for your favorite guy. I have prepared some simple Father’s day gift ideas for you that won’t hurt your wallet:)

Whether you have the luxury of time and/or budget, it’s time to work your brain cells out and give him something unique to cherish for his lifetime.

Take Dad to a Date

Spend a quality date night with Daddy at his favorite restaurant or introduce him to a new good-vibed café. Or maybe you can take him to that cool movie or game he had been wanting to see but don’t have the time or budget to do so. For sure, not only did you make Daddy happy but he’ll treasure that precious time you squeezed out for him during this important day.

A DIY Gift for Daddy

For Daddy’s special day, it pays to extract some creative juices out of your system and into a do-it-yourself gift idea. You can make him a special DIY father’s day card or perhaps a DIY photo frame that looks like a collage of Polaroid pictures of you with Dad. Create some unique that still gets to his heart and make him wanna jump for joy in the thought he’s a happy Daddy.

Write Dad a Poem or a Song

Nothing gets to someone’s heart deeper than that heartfelt, originally composed poem or song. Compose a simple jingle or song for Dad describing how you feel as his child or a poem that talks about the roller coaster adventures you’ve had by spending your life with your father. Make sure to ask your musician friends to record the song with accompaniment or recite your great poem to Dad in-person.

Cook and Prepare Dinner

No dad can resist the smell and taste of a good home-cooked dinner. So get that chef cap on, write those researched recipes on index cards, muster all cookery you have in your system and get working on that spectacular dish. After all, everyone says, “The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.”

Above all, just don’t hesitate to intentionally make that time to spend with the best man in our lives. He deserves the credit for raising great children like ourselves. So let’s give back!
