The Pantone Color Institute recently named Greenery or Pantone 15-0343 as the 2017 Color of the Year.  Pantone’s color of the year has influenced trends in fashion and design in the past years. For 2017, the zesty hue of Greenery brings us closer to nature.  The 2017 Pantone Color of the year has a fresh and energetic vibe that signifies the desire to be reconnected with nature and the environment.

Greenery already made its appearance in the New York Spring and Summer Fashion Week last September 2016 and we expect to see more of it in the months to come. The Gucci Spring and Summer 2017 fashion show featured models wearing plain pants in greenery. There were also tops and jackets with floral design in the same hue. Greenery wasn’t just used for the clothes, the runway also sported the 2017 Pantone Color. This Pantone hue is expected to be the dominant shade for the year. But of course, there is always room for more colors in the fashion scene.

The Pantone Color Fashion Report for Spring 2017 featured the top 10 shades seen in the runway.  The denim like shade of Niagara was also one of the prominent colors in the fashion event. Michael Kors and Jill Stuart featured outfits that played with shades of blue at the New York Fashion Week. Bright Shades like Primrose Yellow, Lapis Blue, Flame, Island Paradise, and Pink Yarrow were also featured. The dainty hue of Pale Dogwood, along with Hazelnut, Kale, and Greenery completes the list.

Greenery is a great statement color for your outfits this year. It is an invigorating color that makes you feel hopeful for great things to come. If you are not sure on how to wear it, there is no need to worry. You can match it with other colors in your wardrobe with the help of Pantone’s pre-selected palettes. This includes deep tones, brights, metallics, pastels, and neutrals. Be brave, be bold, and make a statement with Greenery, the 2017 color of the year.
